This pediatric acute-onset Diagnostic Criteria for PANDAS and PANS Abrupt, dramatic onset or recurrence of OCD Acute-onset anorexia and/or severe, restrictive eating disorder Concurrent presence of two of the following neuropsychiatric symptoms with severe and acute onset: Separation Separation Anxiety Emotional lability Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS) is a bigger subset which can include Lyme, Lyme co-infections, chemicals and other possible viruses such as Epstein Barr Virus (EBV), Herpes Simplex, Staph, and Mycoplasma. PANS stands for Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome. PANDAS is a Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder associated with Streptococcal Infections. This disorder involves antibodies from a strep infection reacting with brain tissue.
